Amtrak H0 Models – American passenger rail in 1:87 scale

Amtrak (National Railroad Passenger Corporation) took over passenger services from almost all U.S. railroads in 1971 and has since been the largest passenger carrier in North America. In H0 scale, Amtrak is mainly covered by Athearn, which carries practically the entire diesel and coach range; Märklin and Piko complement the line-up with European-built special editions, including the ICE 3 in Amtrak livery as a reminder of the 1993 trial.

Typical Amtrak models

The range includes the diesel-electric EMD F40PH, its successor EMD F59PHI in the "Surfliner" and "California" liveries, the GE Genesis P40DC/P42DC with its distinctive aerodynamic nose, the electric AEM-7 (a licensed copy of the Swedish Rc4) and the modern Siemens ACS-64 "Cities Sprinter" for the Northeast Corridor. On the coach side you'll find single-level Amfleet cars, double-deck Superliners for the long-distance routes, and the Acela Express trainset. Filters let you search specifically by manufacturer, current system or era.
