Roco
Roco is one of the leading manufacturers of H0 model railways and is known for highly detailed locomotives and wagons modeled on European prototypes. The Austrian heritage brand, based in Bergheim near Salzburg, is today part of Modelleisenbahn Holding and has stood for top-quality 1:87 models for decades.
The range comprises 11.858 models and covers almost every era of European railway history — from the steam age to modern high-speed traffic. Roco is particularly known for its prototypical renditions of ÖBB, DB and SBB rolling stock. With its in-house direct-current (DC) system and extensive DCC support, Roco caters to both analog and digital modelers.

Buying Roco H0 models — guide and tips
Roco models use the direct-current (DC) two-rail system and are therefore compatible with track systems from Fleischmann, Piko, Tillig and other DC manufacturers. Most Roco locomotives ship with a PluX22 or NEM 652 interface and can easily be digitized with DCC decoders. Many models are also available in a sound version.

Among the most sought-after Roco models are the Class 1116 "Taurus" of the ÖBB, the Class 193 "Vectron", the Class 44 steam locomotive and the various Railjet and IC coach sets. Both brands belong to Modelleisenbahn Holding and use the DC system. Roco positions itself in the premium segment with the finest detailing and exclusive limited editions, while Fleischmann offers a broader range at slightly lower prices. Both brands can easily be combined on the same layout.
