IFA models
Every Reichsbahn layout needs an IFA: H3A and S4000 shape the early GDR, the W50 from Ludwigsfelde became THE truck of the country. Over 600 models in 1:87 cover flatbed, tipper, tanker and fire brigade variants. An overview of the model cars of the IFA brand.
The truck of the GDR
The IFA W50 rolled off the line almost unchanged from 1965 to 1990 – correspondingly omnipresent between the Baltic and the Ore Mountains: as a state-owned flatbed at the loading ramp, as a tipper on site, as a tanker in freight traffic. It is indispensable for era III and IV layouts with a DR theme.
The model range spans Espewe/Busch to Herpa: H3A and S4000 for the 1950s, W50 in dozens of body variants, L60 for the late GDR. Together with Trabant, Barkas and Wartburg, authentic East German road traffic takes shape.
