Register nowPiko is one of Germany's most tradition-rich model railway manufacturers, based in Sonneberg, Thuringia. Already in the GDR, Piko was one of the largest producers of model railways. After German reunification the company reinvented itself and today offers an extensive range of 7.081 H0 models covering locomotives, wagons, buildings and accessories.
Piko is especially known for its outstanding price-performance ratio. The models combine high levels of detail with fair pricing, making them ideal for beginners and experienced modelers alike. The range covers German, Austrian and international prototypes — from Era III steam locomotives to modern Era VI electric locos.
Alongside rolling stock, Piko offers its own A-track system and a wide range of building kits. With PIKO SmartControl the company has also developed a modern digital system that is particularly friendly to newcomers.
Piko models are available in the direct-current (DC) system, and many locomotives are also offered in an AC version for Märklin layouts. This makes Piko one of the few manufacturers serving both systems. The models feature PluX22 or NEM 652 interfaces for digitization.
The outstanding price-performance ratio makes Piko the ideal brand for getting into model railroading. The A-track system offers a rugged roadbed track that is easy to lay even for newcomers. More experienced modelers appreciate the detailed Expert models.
With PIKO SmartControl Piko offers a modern digital system controlled via Wi-Fi and an app. It is DCC-compatible and suitable for both entry-level and larger layouts. Intuitive control via smartphone or tablet makes digital operation particularly accessible.
