Register nowWiking is a traditional German brand for miniature vehicles, on the market since 1936. The Lüdenscheid-based company belongs today to the Sieper Group (as does Siku) and has significantly shaped the history of H0 car models. The current range comprises 2.175 models in H0 (1:87).
Wiking covers a broad spectrum: classic and modern cars, trucks, buses, commercial vehicles, tractors and construction machinery. Especially popular are the models of historic vehicles from the 1950s to 1970s — from the VW Beetle and the Mercedes-Benz O 319 to the Büssing articulated truck. But current vehicles from MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo and other manufacturers are also part of the programme.
For model railroaders, Wiking models have been the standard for decades when it comes to lively street scenes on the layout. The vehicles are to scale, robustly made and available in enormous variety — perfect for realistic traffic scenes on the model railway layout.
Wiking is the traditional brand among H0 car-model manufacturers and has offered miniature vehicles in 1:87 scale since 1936. The models are designed as static vehicles for the model railway and as collector's items.
Especially popular are the re-releases of historic models — from the VW Beetle through the Büssing articulated truck to the Mercedes-Benz L 319. At the same time, modern vehicles and agricultural models (tractors, trailers, harvesters) appear regularly and are in high demand among collectors.
Wiking and Herpa are the two largest H0 car-model manufacturers. Wiking has its strengths in classic vehicles and agricultural models, while Herpa scores in the truck segment with special liveries. For a varied model railway layout, combining the two brands is recommended.
