Renfe H0 Models – Spanish railways on the model layout

Renfe (Red Nacional de los Ferrocarriles Españoles, since 2005 Renfe Operadora) is the Spanish state railway and is served in H0 above all by the Madrid specialist Electrotren, which provides by far the largest selection with over 600 models. Roco rounds out the line-up with classics and newer high-speed trainsets, joined by Heris, Piko, A.C.M.E. and Märklin. The range covers mainly Eras III to VI.

Renfe models in the range

Classics include the Class 269 electric locomotives (Mitsubishi licence build, nicknamed "Japonesa"), the heavy Class 250 and 251, the universal Class 252 (Siemens) and 253 (Bombardier TRAXX), and the diesel-electric Class 333 for the non-electrified network. In high-speed service, the AVE S-100 (TGV-based, 1992 for the first Madrid–Seville line), the Velaro AVE S-103, the dual-gauge Talgo S-130 and the iconic Trenhotel sleeping cars take centre stage.
