FS H0 Models – Italian railways in 1:87 scale
FS (Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane, since 2000 organised as a holding company) is the Italian state railway. In H0 the line-up is led by the Italian classic Rivarossi, followed by Roco, Piko, A.C.M.E. and Lima, with Heris, Vitrains and Brawa rounding things off. The range covers all eras from II to VI — from the "Castano-Isabella" pre-war scheme through the green FS coaches of the post-war period to the present-day XMPR livery and the Frecciarossa trainsets of Trenitalia.
FS classics in the range
Among the electric locomotives, the line-up runs from the aerodynamic E.428 and the "Tartaruga" (tortoise) E.444 via the universal E.464 (Bombardier TRAXX) to the heavy E.656 "Caimano" (Italian crocodile) and the modern E.402, E.405 and E.483/E.484. Diesel classics include the D.245 and D.445. In the trainset segment the centre stage is held by the ETR 300 "Settebello" — a 1950s design icon — the Pendolino family ETR 401/450/460/470/610 and the high-speed ETR 500 and ETR 1000 Frecciarossa.
